Understanding the red flags for cognitive development
Every child attains specific skills in a predictable manner, over a period of time. These are broadly termed as ‘developmental milestones’. They in fact, indicate an interaction between a child’s developing neurological system in other words - their brain development, in relation to their surrounding environment. Missed milestones, can be observed by noticing certain ‘red flags’ in a child’s development that serve as an alarm, calling for rapid initiation of appropriate measures.1
